Wavicide re-agent strips provide a convenient means of testing potency (concentration) levels of glutaraldehyde when used in high level disinfection. The test is not intended to replace microbiological determinations. Manufacturers of glutaraldehyde solutions specifically provide a recommended use life, typically 14 days, 28 days, or 30 days; use beyond these times is never indicated on the basis of results with Wavicide re-agent strips. Place monitor strip in tray with Wavicide-01, when liquid strength drops to 1% the strip will change color and only then is it time to replace with new solution.
